RED CROSS SOCIETY
The annual Meeting of the Red Cross Society was held on Thursday, when the annual report was read and adopted. The resignation of Mrs F OBeirne as president was received with regret. The following office bearers were elected:- President, Mrs D Brown; vice-presidents, Mesdames W D Nicholls and E Ball; auditor, Miss Cochrane, auditor; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mrs R E Saunders; assistant secretary, Miss I Morgan.
The report showed that there was a credit balance of £7/5/1. The receipts were £58/2/10, expenditure £50/17/9.
The Red Cross received £25 and the Trench League £29/16/9 for the year. The following goods were sent to Ballarat:- 1014 pairs socks, 517 shirts, 11 pairs underpants, 3 yards flannel, 12 yards flannelette, 28 handkerchiefs, 8 pairs mittens, 6 scarves, 6 Balaclava caps, 4 towels, old linen, writing paper books, magazines, and tins.
